Dr. Gordaon Godfrey Jr.

Gordon was saved in 1972 and began preaching a year later. His full time ministry started in 1979 in Panama City, Florida. In 1991, he became Pastor of Fundamental Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. The church experienced rapid growth and soon outgrew the buildings. The church voted to relocate and changed the name to Marcus Pointe Baptist Church.
In 21 years, the average weekly attendance has climbed from 63 to more than 1400. The church supports numerous missionaries at home and around the world. The Marcus Pointe Christian School ministers to students from infant to fifth grade. The church has averaged more than 700 salvations and 350 new members a year for 21 years.
Pastor Godfrey has served and is serving on several boards including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Tennessee Temple University Board of Trustees, The Southwide Baptist Fellowship, and S.C.O.R.E. International. Pastor Godfrey has conducted numerous Sunday school and Stewardship Growth Conferences and has written several books and manuals regarding church growth and management. He and his wife June have three children, and six grandchildren.
