SCORE International is so blessed to have these two men involved in our ministry. They have influenced many lives for God and continue to be actively involved in our sports ministry.
Longtime University of Kentucky coach Keith Madison has been selected as the recipient of this year’s ABCA/Wilson Left Gomez Award. Coach Madison is the winningest coach in the history of Kentucky baseball and the third-winningest coach in SEC history. In 1978 he became the youngest head baseball coach at the division I level when named coach at the University of Kentucky at the age of 26. He is recognized for his knowledge, integrity and passion for the sport of baseball. He served as President of the ABCA in 2000 and was inducted into the ABCA Hall of Fame in 2007. He currently serves on the ABCA Board of Directors. Coach Madison received the ABCA’s highest honor at the Hall of Fame/Coach of the Year Banquet held on Friday, January 4, in Chicago. Coach Madison serves as the National Baseball Director for SCORE International.
Donald Thomas “Don” Gordon
Pitched for the Chiefs in parts of three seasons 1985-87. Was the team’s set-up man for closer Tom Henke in 1985 when the Chiefs captured the International League Pennant. Was 8-5 with a 2.07 ERA in 113 innings pitched leading the league in ERA. Returned for the 1986 and 1987 seasons and recorded a 2.89 ERA in ’86 and a 1.75 ERA in ’87. Is 10th All-Time with 154 games pitched and 2nd with a 2.22 Career ERA. Went on to pitch for the Blue Jays, Indians and retired in 1991. Don Gordon serves as the International Baseball Director for SCORE International.
