Giovanna is going home!
The journey with Giovanna has been a great adventure to see how a host of people came together to “Save a Child”. We give thanks to God for His leading, blessing, and anointing.
Thursday morning, Giovanna will go home to the Dominican Republic on a Delta flight scheduled to arrive around 1:00pm. Hallelujah!!!
Giovanna is the three month old daughter of our Dominican missionaries, Giovanny and Carolina Valdez. Three weeks ago, she had open heart surgery. After the diagnosis by her Dominican pediatrician, we immediately went into action. In a period of days, we were able to secure heart surgery at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. There are so many people to thank and I cannot name everyone. Please forgive me! However, I must thank Emily and Reese Smith for being with the Valdez family EVERYDAY and hosting them in their home. Thank you to everyone at Grace Chapel, led by Pastor Steve, who God used to get the surgery. Thanks to the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, the doctors, nurses, and medical staff. God used all of you!
I want to thank everyone who gave to the Children’s Medical Emergency Fund. Praise God for every pastor, church, and friend who offered prayers from around the world. Many of you do not even know Giovanna. Thanks to all of you who prayed.
Finally, they are GOING HOME to Giancarlo and Gianssen! I would love to be there! What a homecoming!
It reminds me….ONE day! Battle-scarred, tired, weary, mended bodies and all, we will take our flight HOME! What a day! What a homecoming! What a reunion with loved ones! What a celebration!
The journey would have never happened without the prayers, help, and love of people, whom God put in our lives! Ultimately, Jesus is the ONE! He is the ONLY ONE to be praised, to receive Glory, and to give thanks!
What a journey….keep praying for Giovanna!
