Three New Pastors in the DR

First three Men to be ordained after graduating from the Training Point Bible Institute in the Dominican Republic.
Antonio, Yhoander and Cesar

In 2008, Dr. Bob Nilsen, Manny Tucen and Ryan Hansen began visiting a small sugarcane village call Los Montones in the Dominican Republic. They realized that there was a great need to plant a church in this area. They decided to start Training Point Bible Institute to train Dominican leaders for these new church plants. About the same time, Andres and Johanna Jordan, Missionaries from Word of Life, were introduced to Antonio and his friends Yhoander and Cesar. The Jordans took a group to a Word of Life Summer Camp, where these three young men heard the Gospel. Antonio received Jesus at the camp, Yhoander decided to start visiting a church, and Cesar continued to search for his belief. The Jordans continued to teach these young men the Word of God until God called them to go to Argentina.

Antonio then met Aby Prado at a SCORE church plant in the sugarcane village of Los Montones. This church is where Antonio was discipled and would later become the Senior Pastor. Aby Prado continued to minister to these three young men, by inviting them to play soccer and using soccer as a tool to draw them in, so he could then teach them the Word of God. In October 2008, both Yhoander and Cesar received Christ. They were challenged to dedicate one year of their life to serving the Lord. That year, they entered the Training Point Bible Institute and began intensive Bible Training. The next year, they had more responsibilities as they helped establish local churches in the Dominican Republic.

Now they know that this is what God wants them to do for the rest of their lives. In 2011, these three men finished Training Point’s three year program and are now providing intensive Bible classes for others. They are 3 out of 18 graduates from the first year at Training Point, and the first to be ordained for ministry. In the month of March, each man is going to be installed as the Senior Pastor of the churches where they were currently preaching. At the same time, they are all involved in the opening of a new church and teaching classes for new believers at Training Point.

Training Point Bible Institute has 357 students currently enrolled. To God be the Glory, great things he has done.
